March 18, 2009- The day she should have come home from the hospital. The pediatrician didn't feel comfortable discharging Natalee today because all the lab results were not back. So far, the blood cultures, spinal fluid cultures, and blood work were all great. He wanted one more day of monitoring and medications. I wanted Natalee to be home but only if she was healthy and safe to come home. The birthmother was discharged from the hospital around 11AM. She never saw, heard, or held Natalee. I respect her decision.
