Blinking gets you two

Becareful getting a new puppy because you blink and they multiply.

I would like to introduce the newest member of your family.....

Bell

They snuggle up and keep each other warm

Charlee was extremely surprised when she opened the kennel door and saw two puppies. She is very happy with Bell (yes, from Beauty and the Beast)

Natalee loves to pick up and carry both puppies.

Bell was born on May 21st (one day after Minnie). She is a purebred blue Rat Terrier. She will be about 8-10 pounds and 12 inches tall when fully grown. Minnie is basically a Rat Terrier that has the hairless gene but with hair.
So in other words....Two Rat Terriers but one has the hairless gene.

Bell is on the right with one of her siblings. Once again, I found her on KSL.com
5 out of the 7 in the litter. Only two blue puppies, one big boy and tiny little Bell. She is in the back of the picture by the foot.
Bell's Brother

Some might say I'm crazy to have two puppies but it actually has been good. Minnie has been a biter and Bell has already put her in her place. Bell is a bit scared but warming up nicely. She is a great addition to our family.

Ask me what I was doing at 1 AM last night....

....I took Minnie outside at 1 PM to go potty and accidently LOCKED myself out of the house.

I tried the front door...locked
I tried removing window screens to see if a window was unlocked....Locked. I never open my windows because of my allergies to I knew this was a long shot.
I rang the doorbell and banged on the door in the hopes of waking up Charlee. No luck.
I threw a plastic toy at Charlee's window. No luck.

I waked 5 houses down the street (in my PJ's) to my neighbors house. She goes to work at 2 AM so I rang and knocked at her door. Her dog was barking but still no one answered the door. More knocking and ringing the door bell....finally she looked through the peep hole and saw me. My hero.....I called Mom and Dad....Mom drove down to my house and opened the garage door. My HERO....

....guess who wakes up?????

Charlee.

Can you believe my adverture last night? I know do not go outside without making sure I can get back into the house.

Welcome Home, Minnie!!!!!

I play for 20 minutes them I'm exhausted and ready for a nap.

Charlee is a happy owner of Minnie

Our First Morning at Our House

Charlee is a sweetheart to give her little sister some puppy food for Minnie

Natalee is a happy owner of Minnie as long as she isn't jump on her and biting.

Charlee and Minnie watch Cinderella and take a nap

It's been a long weekend and it's time for bed

Sometimes Natalee isn't sure about the new family member

Minnie is ready for flight with those ears

Minnie has been a great dog. She has only had two pee-pee accidents and to poo accidents. One of each was in her kennel during the night. She likes to jump and bite so that is a major thing we are working with. The first two nights she would wake up every two hours an cry for about 30 minutes. So far tonight, she has been down for 1 hours with no crying. She is downstairs in the living room because I and the Girls need to sleep. Minnie is going the be a good learner and easy to train. Charlee loves to carry her everywhere and snuggle with her. Charlee has been great with helping me get her in and out of the kennel, in and out from outside, feeding her, and loving her. Minnie loves to jump and bit Natalee so there have been a few tears from Natalee along with a nice scratch on her chin. Charlee and I clipped her nails for the first time so that was helpful for our skin.
Wishing for a full night sleep with out crying. Minnie doesn't bark but she does should like a parrot. You just have to hear it to believe it.
Welcome to the family, Minnie.

New Family Member

I would like to introduce the newest member of our family.......

She is a 6 week old American Hairless Terrier. A WHAT????? But she has hair. Doesn't she????

Let me explain....Her Mother is an American Hairless Terrier with no hair and her Father is also an American Hairless Terrier but has hair (coat) so there were four puppies in the litter. Two with hair and two without hair. Look at the pictures of her two brothers.

Shiver (the Mother) is on the side

Amazingly the hairless puppy is charming and adorable but also comes with a HUGE pricetag of $1000. The Hairless trait is recessive so you will get some coated puppies in every litter so they are usually just sold as family pets but carry the recessive gene. This is an extremely rare breed that has only been around for about 20 years. They are healthy dogs because of their rarity
I found these puppies on KSL.com (my favorite place). The moment that I saw them I knew that it is exactly what I wanted. I had been looking for a Boston Terrier and made several calls but it just didn't feel right. I wanted a small dog with minimal grooming that was GREAT with kids. Well, this puppy fits the bill 100%.
She will resemble the Rat Terrier. She will be about 8 lbs and 10 inches tall. She is the runt of the litter but does she have a personality. Rat Terriers are great with kids and require very little groom and don't shed too much.
Charlee and Natalee came with me too look at the puppies. It was hard to choose between the coated male and female but in the end, Charlee picked the little girl. Charlee is extremely happy and can't wait to bring her home.
I'm going to pick her up after work on Friday so we have the whole weekend to get adjusted.
We haven't picked a name but Charlee wants a small name because she is soooo small. Minnie has been thrown around. Suggestions welcome....

Disneyland Tip #1

Don't get STREP Throat 2 days before leaving on your vacation to Disneyland.

On Sunday, Father's Day, I woke up with a horrible sore throat, huge black, white, and bleeding tonsils, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and body aches.

I quickly took my Dad McDonald's Breakfast and dropped off the kids. I drove straight to the local Instacare. I was the second in line but the first to be seen by the doctor. Her expression on her face when she looked at my tonsils was priceless.

A throat culture which was bloody come up positive for Strep. Prescription for Amoxacillin, lots of Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I was running 100-103 temps on Sunday, didn't work on Monday but started to feel a bit better, but on Tuesday morning I knew I would survive.

Throughout our whole vacation, I was never too far from Ibuprofen and cough drops. Tiffany's tip is not to travel with someone with Strep because they have a tendency to snore at night.

I have about 3 more days of antibiotics and I'm feeling good.

The best thing of all.....neither of the Girls got Strep.

Disneyland 2010

Disneyland 2010
We arrived home this morning from the Magical Kingdom. It was a GREAT vacation. Can you call going to Disneyland a vacation?
We were up early every morning to open the gates of Disneyland, walked a million miles, wore kids down to tears, and fell asleep at night exhausted. Then did it all again the next day.
We did 43 rides in 3 1/2 days at Disneyland. Tiffany had our rides mapped out to a tee so we rarely stood in line. Alice in Wonderland was a big hit with 3 rides along with Tea Cups.
Tiffany took all the pictures but I got a few great shots of Tiffany, Eliza, Solomon, and Charlee on the Tea Cups.

Natalee decided to stay on the sidelines with Mom

I'll be posting more pictures as I get them.
Vacationing with 4 children and 2 adults was difficult at times but all worth it when we saw the children's eye light up with the magic.

Our two double side-by-side strollers were a life saver. 24 wheels total took over the streets of Disneyland.
