A Natalee Milestone

During all the coughing and wheezing this weekend, Natalee had a milestone.....

...She rolled over from tummy to back in front of Aunt Von, The Kids, Grandma, Papa, Charlee, and I.

She is about ready to roll over from back to tummy anyday. I'm loving this age.

Then it is crawling........

Natalee Update

Natalee LOVES food. She is eating 1 cup of cereal in one sitting. She had no interest in her bottle while Charlee and I were eating dinner so I made her some cereal. She opened her mouth when she is ready for another bite. I can't shovel in the food fast enough.

Natalee had her first bite of banana. At first she didn't like it but when I mixed it with her cereal, she LOVED it.

Bananas are on the menu for tomorrow night.

We also had our final post-placement social worker visit with Esther today. She was great. The girls were well behaved. And the most important thing......We are one step closer to finalizing Natalee's adoption. The date is not set but September 17th (6th months) is just around the corner. We can't wait.

Have I ever said how much I love my girls?

I love my Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Medical Update

As many of you know.....

...I was in the Instacare (or insta scare) on Saturday with shortness of breath, wheezing, fever, high blood sugars, and green thick productive cough. The Doctor (if you can call him that) said "your asthma is out of control". Ya, but what caused my asthma to flare-up to the worst breathing I've ever had?????? Here is some steroids for 5 days and good luck. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out"

I knew better than to go to the Insta Scare. I should have gone straight to LDS Hospital ER or called Uncle Matt.

So I started the steroids (I became a jittery, steroid high, high blood sugar mess). I used almost an entire inhaler of albuterol (about 40 doses) to get some relief.

By the time Monday rolled around, I called my doctor and she said, "Come on down"

I was started on a Z-Pack for bronchitis (the cause of the asthma flare-UP). You should have been started on this on Saturday. Also, here is a steroid taper instead of cold turkey. You should be feeling better in a day or two.

Today (Tuesday), I'm still coughing, can't do anything with out being winded but with better recovery, less albuterol use, less productive cough, no fever, but blood sugars are higher than ever. Taking lots and lots of insulin.

This was the scariest medical situation I've ever been in with my own body. I don't want to do this again. When you are so short of breath that you can't even change your own daughters diaper without having to sit for 5 minutes to catch your breath, it scares the pants right off you.

Thank you Mom and Dad for coming to my rescue. Thank you to all my family and friends for the phone calls and e-mails. You are all the best. I owe you one.

24th of July Weekend

Our 24th of July weekend started out great with the Bountiful Parade. Natalee stayed home with Grandma who was fighting a cold, most likely from Natalee. We joined Aunt Von and the crew, Papa, Grandma Beckie, and Grandpa Paul. We had a great time, got lots of candy, and goodies.

Play that Guitar!!!!!!!

That night we had a huge sleep over at Grandma and Papa's house. Charlee was going to sleep with "Kids" but joined me. Let's just say I didn't get the best night sleep. Friday morning after breakfast, we went swimming at the pool. It was great as usual. The "Kids" are getting to be better swimmers each year.

Hairstyle By Tiffany

Natalee received a makeover by Tiffany. Tiffany watched the Girls yesterday while I was at work. Can you believe how cute this girl is? She reminds me of Veronica (her birthmother).

"Don't worry Mom about my eyes being crossed. I was just looking at the flash"

Thank you Tiffany, Eliza, and Solomon for watching Charlee and Natalee.

Natalee's 4 Month MD Visit

Natalee had her 4 month well baby visit today. Her are her stats:

14 lbs 12 oz (80th percentile) "I was guessing 18 lbs"
24 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
15 1/2 inches (10th percentile) head circumference

She received another round of vaccines, one shot in each leg and the oral Rotovirus. She never cried on the first shot but screamed on the second.

She has been coughing and runny nose for about three weeks, along with some fluid behind her ear so we got a prescription for Amoxicillin. Her first antibiotics, excluding her big guns in the NICU. We also got a prescription for Nystatin for a possible yeast infection under her chin and skin folds.

She is developmentally right on track. See you back at her 6 month well-baby check.

Charlee also had a weight/height check because her pants are falling off of her. I had to move her adjustable elastic waist shorts four slots today. At the beginning of summer they were just right. Well, in one month she has gained 0.6 lbs and grew 3/4 inch. I think that is pretty good for her. So her are her stats:

26.6 lbs (3rd percentile)
36 3/4 inches (18th percentile)

She is simply stretching out.

Where has the time gone?

The "NAT" Virus

As many of you know, Natalee got some nasty GI Bug which hit during SWAC on June 27th. I love this picture of Eileen and I giving Natalee a bath with a bottle of water after BLOWING out her diaper. I was not laughing at the time but know I am. I'm glad Marque grabbed her camera and took this shot. I'll never for get SWAC June 2009.

Charlee was just happy as can be, blowing bubbles while her little sister is getting a bath.
The victim list of the "NAT" Virus: Solomon, Eliza??, Leanne?, Grandma, Syd (my niece), and Little Man (my nephew).
Natalee also pooped all over her teacher, Cassie. It got every piece of her clothing, including her shoe.
I'm happy to report that the "NAT" virus has been contained and not infecting anyone else.
Charlee and I never got it. I'm not sure how but we made it. It was most likely all the laundry, cleaning, and hand washing. 8 loads of laundry after SWAC.
Natalee never got fussy or difficult to handle. She was happy and laughing even after blowing out her diaper.

I just couldn't wait....

I know that I was going to wait until after Natalee's 4 month check-up (Tuesday) to start solid foods but I just couldn't wait......
The "Drama" Bib
"Hurry or I'll eat the bib"

"Yummy but what is it"

"I'm not sure about this but I think I'm going to love food"

Forgive me on the background noise, Charlee was playing with her remote control car.

Charlee so desperately wanted to try Natalee's cereal so I let her. I thought she was going to puke. She was giving nasty looks and gagging the small spoonful down. I don't think she'll ask for seconds.

Like Mother Like Daughter

I've been using my Hip Hammock to carry Natalee in instead of the stroller when we go for our evening walks. Today, Charlee found her own Hip Hammock.....

Polly in the Hip Hammock

This evening Charlee with her Hip Hammock and I with my Hip Hammock took Polly and Natalee for a walk with Maggie.

Terrific Pictures

Ok....I know that these pictures were taken two Saturdays ago but.....life has been busy with sick children and family members. This was the being of the "NatVirus". the pictures were taken by Tiffany's Mom, Gail. More pictures of the gang can be viewed on her blog at piccadillyphoto.blogspot.com

The Maiden Voyage-2009

Today was our Maiden Voyage to the pool. It was also Natalee's first time in a swimming pool. She loved it. Leanne had took pictures with her camera of the Girls in the pool so I'll be updating the post. I have two little fish.
