Charlee Day 2009

Charlee Day 2009
I decided to make today, April 30th, officially Charlee Day. This is the last day of my maternity leave where Charlee will be home. I decided to let Charlee decide what to do. She picked feeding the ducks at Layton Park with Grandma.
I love the duck park in Layton. Lots of shade, clean, and plenty of ducks, swans, geese, and sea gulls. Charlee loved feeding them. I cleaned out my freezer of all the old bread.

Natalee enjoyed the bright lights and the bumps of the stroller

Charlee loved eating the bread. I asked myself, "Why do I buy her fresh bread".

Charlee and Grandma loved the park. We spent three hours walking around and feeding the birds.

Charlee's favorite, the Black Swan.

The White Swan on the huge nest

Charlee sustained 2 falls on the sidewalk and scraped her knees up. She was a bit of a drama queen. It's just the beginning of the scrapped knee season of Summer

After the park, we drove back home for Ice Cream at Cold Stone. Yummy!!!!!

Natalee slept all the way through ice cream.
Later in the evening, Charlee, Natalee, and I went for a walk to the neighborhood park. Charlee played on the slides and jungle gym for a bit. As we were leaving the park, she sustained another fall and more injury to her knees. They are beginning to look like hamburger. I asked if I could take a picture for the blog and her answer was "NO". May be tomorrow. She played so hard today with just a small nap on the way to the duck park that she was fast asleep at 6:55PM.
We are going to make Charlee Day an annual event. We'll have a Natalee Day later this year.
We had a great day!!!!!!!!!!!
The perfect day to end maternity leave.

My First Unofficial Day Back To Work

Today was my first unofficial day back to work since I left at 11:10AM on March 16, 2009. My office at the hospital is being converted into a shower room of the ICU. They need to start the conversion asap so I hate to do it today vs next week when I'm official back to work. My new office is nice but there was alot to move. My new office is only 20-30 feet away so it was not too bad. Thank you Marque for helping!!!!!

Charlee is not happy about me returning to work. She started crying tonight and when she finally told me why she was crying, it was because I have to return to work. She has gotten attached to my hip. I don't blame her for being upset. I don't want to return to work either.

While I was at work, Grandma Beckie and Grandpa Paul watched the girls. Thank you.

They said that Natalee was a bit fussy. So I decided to try some Simethicone drops to see if that would help her fussiness and spitting up. So far, after three feedings only a quarter size spit up. She seems better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Even with the fussiness and spitting up during the day, she has slept 6 hours straight every night for the past 4 nights. Can she make it 5 in a row?????

I hope so.....

The Countdown Chain

The Official Countdown Chain for the Kids

As many of you know, my sister and her family are moving back to the west coast in July. Charlee, Natalee, and I decided to make a chain with each date until the move. We colored each chain and put a Mickey Mouse sticker on. We didn't assemble the chain, that was their job.
I'm not sure exactly how many days but it is less than 65 days until the move.

A Relaxing Monday

Our Monday morning started with the sun shining through the front door. I couldn't resist opening up and letting all the light in. Charlee played with her dolls and animals in the sun for almost an hour. She finally said, "IT'S HOT". Maggie also enjoyed the rays.

Natalee sporting her new sun hat

We are off for a small bike ride and walk. A small walk was more than enough. Maggie stopped every two feet to eat a new patch of grass. Charlee cried almost the whole way because I wouldn't pull her with the leash on her bike. My neighbors are probably laughing at me. One woman pushing a stroller, walking a large dog, and pulling another child on a bike. I would laugh if I saw that, too.

A nap on the couch after lunch

Charlee and I were able to clean up and began to put out the summer furniture in the back yard. It was so nice today I couldn't pass up the opportunity to set up the swing seat and get the toys all cleaned up. Charlee was a HUGE help until I moved something and there were 5 live worms. She wouldn't get of the storage box until I washed them away. "I only like worms when they are dead and dried up at Grandma's house'

My Girls were both down for bed before 7PM. Natalee will be up again around 10PM which is ok with me. Charlee had assistance of going to bed with cold medications. Yes, we all have colds. What else is new?
